No dia 1º de julho de 2005, o site oficial de Michael Jackson, o MJJ Source, publicou uma matéria reconhecendo oficialmente a realização da Celebration Party no Brasil, organizada pela comunidade de fãs da MJ Beats, com apoio da Edcyhis — um magazine digital de curadoria e conteúdo que atuava na época como parceiro.

Realizado em São Paulo no dia 16 de julho daquele ano, o evento foi descrito como “o maior da história da comunidade de fãs brasileira”. A publicação mencionava a presença de fãs de diversas regiões do país além de destacar o show do então jovem artista-tributo brasileiro Rodrigo Teaser, reconhecido pela primeira vez em um canal vinculado à equipe oficial de Michael.

A página listava a programação completa da festa, que ocorreu no Soda Pop Club, em Pinheiros, e trazia dados de contato, endereço e até a URL do antigo site da MJ Beats: reidopop.com.

Mais do que um anúncio, a publicação no MJJ Source representava o reconhecimento formal de um evento idealizado e executado por fãs, logo após a absolvição de Michael Jackson no julgamento de 2005. O texto exaltava a missão da comunidade com a frase: “every day create your history”, lema que inspirou o nome Edcyhis e, ao mesmo tempo, ecoava o espírito de continuidade representado pela MJ Beats.

Este print, hoje histórico, é uma das evidências mais sólidas da conexão direta entre o artista e seus fãs brasileiros — e reafirma a importância da organização local no cenário global da comunidade de fãs (fandom) de Michael Jackson.

CELEBRATION PARTY: BRAZIL HONORS THE KING

Since its creation back in July 17th of 1998, EDCYHIS has been the place to be when it comes to Michael Jackson. Approaching an ever-growing community of faithful fans from all around Brazil and Portugal, as well as other parts of the world, this organization manages to bring out high-quality content on the most significant artist the world has ever known.

Next July will see more than an ordinary anniversary party. We are celebrating seven years of EDCYHIS and, most importantly, Michael Jackson’s acquittal on all ten counts brought against him. This victory motivates us and leads us to another path, a better one for each and everyone of us. This is a path to a future of peace and joy.

Admirers from all over Brazil will be traveling to São Paulo in order to join the biggest fan event in the history of the Brazilian fan community. This party is intended to honor Michael Jackson for his amazing music career and humanitarian life, so we’ll be giving him the best tribute we could offer: we’ll go through performances on stage (including impersonator Rodrigo Teaser who has appeared on many TV shows down here), raffles, memories, and of course, a whole lot of Michael’s music.
